Of the other two I prefer Ochoa's Creer son Carnet de Voyage - but they're all fun to look at, different from the illustrated journals Americans seem to do (if one can generalise); and I agree that you need little French to understand them. And Amazon.fr is as easy as Amazon.com to navigate... I see that Duvoisin also has a sketchbook of Venice that looks lovely... oh dear, oh dear. I used to sit in FNAC on a saturday afternoon in marseille looking through books and music. There was a great art shop in Aix called Chez Michel where i used to get my materials, i bet they have them too.
