Santa Fe 2008 Sketchbook

Here are the rest of the sketches from my recent trip to Santa Fe. Fellow sketchblogger Lisa was on the same trip and did some really great sketches too.

I love Santa Fe and try to go every year or two. The light, spaces, color and food are amazing!

Martha, thanks for the reminder of a terrific time on my first visit to Santa Fe. Loved the jazz players and your sketch of our cozy, adobe cottage. But you left out the margu-ritas and the sofa pitas! Diana

A lovely set of sketches – they give the area a delightfully friendly feel. I especially like the Canyon Road gate.

There you are!! The sketches bring back such vivid, fun times. Ready for another trip?! I hope you can slow down & not work so hard so we get to enjoy more of your sketching. There is a gaping hole in the blogosphere when you are not here! Missing you…Lisa

Beautiful. Nicely done, Martha. I like the way you discovered the paintable locations, and not necessarily the more obvious ones. I think you captured the spirit of the area.

These are wonderful Martha – you’ve captured just what I remember about my only trip to Santa Fe. It was such a unique culture for someone with my NYC, Cicago, LaJolla, and san Antonio sensibilities. I felt like the lady on the poster I saw there in shop windows who was overcome by Santa Fe art/design. Hope to see you soon in S.F.

I was knocked out by Santa Fe when I went there and definitely want to visit again. It’s ‘people scale’ plus I loved those turquoise painted side walks.

I smiled while looking at all your sketches – I remember that roofline ‘At The Plaza’ very well but only have photos of it. Really nice to see a sketch.

I’m now off to look again at your sketchbooks from previous visits……
