Italy Sketchbook   January 21st, 2008

In 2001 we spent two wonderful weeks in Ligure, the Northwest coast of Italy. It proved to be an excellent area for sketching; lots of beautiful views and quaint, colorful villages.

We stayed in Santa Margherita, and from there visited Portofino, Camogli and the towns of the Cinque Terre. Other highlights of the trip were the amazing hikes we took and the fantastic food we had.

I made this sketch from my car yesterday while waiting for an appointment. It was fun to do!

Shop windows are great to draw: interesting and colorful, and they hold still too 🙂 . I did some others on my recent Pasadena trip and also the one below in Italy, in 2001.
