Introduction
Welcome to the latest Trumpetvine Expedition!

This sketchblog was initiated as a motivator to keep me sketching regularly. So far, it has done that and more!
Trumpetvine Travels Zine…and beyond!
A few years ago I published two issues of Trumpetvine Travels, a zine focused on sketching. It was a wonderful experience: I loved planning and creating the issues and I met many wonderful people as a result.
However, the tasks of printing, binding, tracking, and shipping proved to be too much and I could not continue. I do miss it though and see this project as a way to regain some of that magic with a more efficient delivery method.
TT Volumes 1 and 2 are now available as free PDF downloads, and I will be sharing both sketches and new articles on this site. Consider this sketchblog to be Trumpetvine Travels Volume Three!

I was looking through the notebooks photos on Flickr. I was drawn to one of your photos of a moleskine and through to your site about rebinding a moleskine.
Your ideas are very interesting and I find the photos charming.
thank you.

I had a good time sketching with you and Lisa in Chinatown. Thank you for inviting me to sketch along with you. Please pass this on to Lisa, too.
Send me your email and I will send you a pdf sample of the CD case calendar I did.

Ah, beautiful on site drawings and sweet watercolor. I don’t know how I found thisblog of yours while searching but WOOOOWWWW it is lovely and perfect. I live near the Historic areas of Williamsburg and Yorktown Virginia and paint from pictures that I take. I often want to draw on site –Plein Aire, but rarely do I see anyone else doing this. I painted plein aire in Italy with other watercolor artists and loved it. I think it is the idea of being ALONE and being questioned about my work. The weather does not always cooperate and I manage a million excuses. HOW SILLY. I want to sketch and paint on site and I’m a chicken!! Gosh I am glad to have found your blog, I am inspired enough to bury the excuses. Thank you.
If you know of any artists looking for a sketching partner in Williamsburg Virginia, pass this on. rsnowdd@aol.com

Wow! you are amazing and so generous. I live in Lake Tahoe and sketching is my passion. I don’t know how I came across your bolg but I love to check in and see what you are up to. I am a printmaker and use my sketches as starting points for my prints.
