Sketchin’ on the Dock of the Bay

San Francisco from the Berkeley Marina (larger)

We’ve been having (mostly) fabulous weather for the past few weeks. Did this little (2.5×5 inch) sketch very quickly today before heading home after an all-day meeting at a nearby hotel. I go to this shoreline a lot though; it has wonderful views across the bay, great walking and lots of fresh bay air.

Very nice. I like the mood portrayed by the color! And the way light is reflecting on the water!

Such a lovely little sketch. Looks more exotic than San Francisco.

    Lovely sketch Martha.

Great, Martha, as usual. I appreciate your fine-honed sketch techniques. You’re always a worthwhile lesson in simplicity and tastefully selected color. This one has a tranquil, thoughtful mood too. I like, too, the texture variety in the water, which seems maybe even to mirror that in the clouds, upper right. Impressive, whether intentional or intuitive.
